Request a demo:

1. Go to Opensend.com

2. Click on “Start now” button

3.Fill the form and press “Submit”

4. Check your email to book an Appointment with team Opensend.

5. Once you have booked an appointment Opensend’s team will be in touch.

Activate your Opensend.com account:

 1: Once you have received the welcome email from Opensend.com, go to that email and click on “Create a password to begin” 

2. Set your password, click the checkboxes and finally press “Submit”

3. Click “Next”

4. Add/Verify your account information and Press Next

5. Select a plan and press “Next”

6. Read and scroll to bottom of Terms of use, click the checkbox and press “Accept”

7. Verify your plan, add the credit card details and finally press “Pay now”

8. If you need to invite a team member for the technical setup you can send an invite at this setup or you can choose to do it from your end.

ADD TEAM MEMBERS:

1. Adding team members to Opensend Dashboard:

a: Go to the “Settings” tab

b: Click on “Manage members”

c:  Click on “Invite new member” button (top right)

d.  Add the user email and select the role “Manager” or “Viewer”

i.    The manager can manage everything on the account including changing klaviyo’s details, billing info, and adding new members

ii. Viewers can only view the Statistics via the “Overview” tab

REVIEW STATISTICS IN THE OPENSEND DASHBOARD:

1. Reviewing the statistics from Opensend Dashboard:

a: Review the delivery Statistics from the “Overview tab”. Select the timeline from the top right as needed.

PIXEL INSTALLATION

a. Opensend Pixel

  1. Navigate to Integration tab
  2. Select Opensend Pixel
  3. Add any custom custom fields you plan to use, these fields can be used with Zapier integration to send to your CRM/ESP
  4. Press Submit
  5. Copy the script and insert the code copied within the <head> section (not <body>) of your sitewide head, so that it will fire on every page.
  6. Enable the Opensend pixel from the top toggle.

b. Shopify App

  1. Navigate to the Integrations tab
  2. Select Shopify 
  3. Once the shopify app is provisioned by the Opensend team, you should be able to see the install button. Click on Install button and install the app on your shopify store

iv. Once the Shopify app is installed. You should be able to see the success message on Shopify tab on Opensend Dashboard

v. Make sure the Shopify toggle on top is enabled in order for the integration to work

ZAPIER INTEGRATION:

1. Add the Zapier Webhook URL

a. Navigate to Integration tab

b. Select Zapier

c. Under the fields dropdown select any custom fields you added and want to send to Zapier

d. In the next field, you will be asked for the Zapier Webhook URL

e. To get the Zapier Webhook URL, login to your Zapier account and click on the “Create Zap” button from the left bar on the dashboard. 

f. From top left click on the edit icon to add the name of Zap  “Opensend Webhook”.

g.  Under the trigger search bar, search for “Webhook”. It will show a list from where select “Webhooks by Zapier” option

h. Under Event field, select Catchhook option

i.  Click Continue

j. In the next step under Trigger Select continue and leave it blank

k.  Copy the webhook URL generated Zap

l. Go back to the Opensend Dashboard screen and paste the Webhook URL there and press Send a test request

m. In the popup add the email address to send as a test to Zapier and Press Send

n. Go back to Zapier and click Test Trigger.

o. You should be able to see the test event there. Press Continue to proceed

p. In the next step, under the action search bar, search for the CRM you are using e.g. “Salesforce”. It will show a list from where select “Salesforce” option

q. Under Event you can select the event as needed. For example you can select Create Contact if you want to add the new record from Opensend as a Contact on Salesforce and press Continue

r.  Under account option please authenticate the Salesforce account to integrate with

s. On starting the salesforce authentication it will open a new screen select your salesforce production account from there

t. Once the account is authenticated, you can select it from Zapier account drop down and press Continue

u. Under action select the account where you want to populate the contacts, and map out the fields. All the required fields should be mapped out like email field. After finishing required field mapping, Press Continue.

v. Test the action in the final Step and Publish the Zap

w. Go back to Opensend dashboard and click Done to close the popup 

x. Click Submit button

 

y. Make sure the Zapier toggle on top is enabled on Opensend  in order for the integration to work

KLAVIYO INTEGRATION:

1. Add the klaviyo details

a: On the “Integrations”, you will be asked for the Secret/Private Key for your
Klaviyo account

b. To get the Klaviyo Secret/Private key, Login to your Klaviyo account and click
on “Settings” in the bottom left corner of your screen:

c. Click on the “API keys” tab and then press “Create Private API Key” button.

d. Name the private key “Opensend”, select the “Full Access Key” option and finally press the  “Create” button

e. Copy the private key to your clipboard and paste it into the Integration tab

f.  In the “Product List” dropdown, select the list in Klaviyo where you want the contacts to be added. We recommend adding it to the master list. Remember that every record has a “tag” equal to “Opensend”, in this way you can always segment the data

g.  Finally, Press the “Submit” button

h. Make sure the Klaviyo toggle on top is enabled in order for the integration to work

KLAVIYO ACCOUNT EMAIL SEQUENCE SETUP:

1: Create a Segment on Klaviyo to categorize contacts from Opensend and send emails via a new flow

a:  Enter your Klaviyo main dashboard and on the left sidebar click the “Audience” dropdown

b: Select the “Lists & Segments”

c:  On the top right section click on the option “Create List / Segment”

d.  Then, select the right box “Segment” 

e. On the “Name” box, enter the name

f. Leave the “Tags” box empty

g.  On the “Definition” box select the option “Properties About Someone”

h. On the “Dimension” area select the option “tag” equal to “Opensend” 

i. Next, click on “Create Segment” – Klaviyo will find all of the people that matched the segment

j.  Now from the left bar, click on the Flows

k.  Click on the Create Flow button

l.  Click on the Create from Scratch button

m.  Enter the Flow name and leave the Tags field empty

n. Select Segment as the Trigger for this flow

o.  Select the Segment you create for Opensend contacts in previous steps and finally press Done

p. Now create an email which you want to send to the contacts coming from Opensend.

2.  Approach 2: Send email to contacts coming from Opensend via an existing flow

a.  Assuming you want to add a conditional split on the Klaviyo list integrated with Opensend where you are adding contacts from another source as well

b.  Edit that flow by adding a Conditional Split

c. On the “Select a condition” box select the option “Properties About Someone”

d.  On the “Dimension” area select the option “tag” equals to “opensend” 

e.  Click on the save button

f.  Now under Yes you can add email for contacts coming from Opensend and under No you can add email for contacts coming from other sources.

BEST PRACTICES WHILE USING KLAVIO WITH OPENSEND:

1. While sending emails to contacts coming from Opensend, the email language should not say Thank you for subscribing.

2.  The suggested language to use is “Welcome to the [Brand name]”. In this way, the user will be welcomed and not misled into an action that they have not taken.

Steps for Custom Reports:

Report 1: Total Revenue Per Month

a: Enter your Klaviyo main dashboard and on the left side bar click the “Analytics” drop down.

b: Then, select the “Custom Reports” option.

c: On the top right section click on the option “Create from scratch”

d. On the “Report Type” drop-down, select the option “Single Metric Deep Dive Report”

e. On the “Report Name” area, we recommend naming the report “Opensend – March 2023”

f. Standing now on the “Configure Report”, move on to the “Metric” area and select the drop-down to select measure.

g. Select the option “Placed Order” next to a Shopify icon.

h. On the “Total” area, click the drop-down and select the option “Value”

i. On the “SUM” area, the option remains “SUM”

j. Continuing on the section “Group or Filter” click on “+ Add Group By” and select the option named “tag”
NOTE: There might be a similar option named “Tags” – make sure you select only the “tag” option

k. After selecting “tag” it will appear as “equal” and on the next box you will add “Opensend”

l. In the “Timeframe” area select “Last 365 days” and then in the next box select “Month”

m. Click on the “Save & Run Report” option.

Report 2: MultiMetric Report

a. Enter your Klaviyo main dashboard and on the left side bar click the “Analytics” dropdown.

b: Then, select the “Custom Reports” option.

c:On the top right section click on the option “Create from scratch”

d:On the “Report Type” drop-down, select the option “Multi-Metric Report”

e: On the “Report Name” area, we recommend naming the report “Opensend – March 2023”  
f: Standing now on the “Configure Report” section, move on to the “Metric” area and select the drop-down to select measure.  
g: You will be selecting 6 different Metrics by clicking the “Add Metric” button  
  1. Select the option “Checkout Started” then option “Value” then option “SUM”
  2. Select the option “Viewed Product” then option “Total” then option “SUM”
  3. Select the option “Clicked Email” then option “Total” then option “SUM”
  4. Select the option “Opened Email” then option “Total” then option “SUM”
  5. Select the option “Placed Order” then option “Value” then option “SUM”
  6. Select the option “Received Email” then option “Total” then option “SUM

h:Continuing on the section “Group or Filter” click on “+ Add Group By” and select the option named “tag” 

i:After selecting “tag” it will appear as “equal” and on the next box you will add “Opensend”

j:In the “Timeframe” area select “Last 365 days” and then in the next box select “Month”

k:Click on the “Save & Run Report” option

Report 3: Engagement Report

a:Enter your Klaviyo main dashboard and on the left sidebar click the “Audience” drop down.

b:Then, select the “Lists & Segments” option.

c:On the top right section click on the option “Create List / Segment”

d:Then, select the right box named “Segment”

e: On the “Name” box, we recommend naming the report “Opensend Contacts”    
f: Leave the “Tags” box empty    
g: On the “Definition” box select the option “Properties About Someone”    
h: On the “Dimension” area select the option “tag” equals to “Opensend”    

i:Next, click on “Create Segment”

j:Klaviyo will find all of the people that matched the segment and then after the list has charged you will click on the option “Reports” and then click on “Engagement”

k:Click on the middle button “Run Engagement Report”
